Blinking Eyes, Teary and Itchy Eyes by Mow AL, Malaysia

In mid October, a ten years old boy and his 13 year old sister were referred to me by one officer of a spastic children and underprivileged home. The boy had persistent blinking eyes problem for the last two years. He blinked quite rapidly especially when trying listen to a conversation. Reason is unknown.

Her elder sister have blinking eyes but not as rapid as his. But on top of this, she had teary and itchy eyes came night time for the last 5 years. She also could not see the writing clearly in the classroom if she were to sit behind the classroom.

What came immediately to my mind on that day was to think of a way to break the habit of blinking eye muscles by prescribing both of them some simple Qigong eye exercises before trying out other methods later. So I taught them the followings:
1. Counting leaves , a hundred leaves and increase it to 500 gradually ,
2. Look extremely far immediately switch to extremely near for a dozen or so times,
3. Rotate eyes clockwise and anti-clockwise for up to about a dozen times if they felt no headache or dizziness,
4. Angry eye: open eyes widely and close eyes tightly
All the above should be done twice or more times a day.

For the sister's teary and itchy eyes, she was taught additionally to rub her palms till hot and cup her eyes and if she preferred cupping and rotating her palms clock-wise and anti-clockwise the same number of times.

The results are amazing. Both brother and sister have stop blinking their eyes after two weeks. As for her sister, her teary and itchy eyes were solved completely after about a month of practice.

She also said that she could see better now at the whiteboard in the classroom.

A thousand thanks go to Sifu Tan Soo Kong and Simu Connie for introducing me not only Qigong but Medical Qigong in not only heal your ownself but also help out others.
